Playing Times

The course is open from 7.45am until dusk almost every day.  There is no booking required and mostly you can just rock up at the course and go straight on.  If you don’t have anyone to play with then we have lots of roll-ups throughout the week, to suit all standards of play:-

Monday

An 8 o’clock friendly group drawing partners.  ‘Roll-up to play’ at 09.00 for tee-off at 09.30; drawing cards for partners and playing groups randomly. All welcome.

Tuesday

Ladies day, the 1st tee is reserved for the ladies between 8:30am and 11:30am.  The Ladies Section organises games and competitions most weeks. Tee times are scheduled in the Ladies’ locker room and any lady looking for a game will always be accommodated.

Wednesday

Our strong Vets section play in the mornings, and non – Vets are invited to play with them.  Starting at 8.15am, random draw for groups etc.

In the afternoon a friendly group, drawing partners, start about 1pm in the summer or 12noon in the winter. New members are always welcome!  This is usually the best attended roll-up of the week.

Thursday

A group of men play regularly on Thursday late-mornings / early afternoons, and run informal competitions. Anyone is welcome to play with them. They usually start at 12.30pm in the summer and 11.30am in the winter.

Friday

Many friendly informal groups go out on Friday’s.  Ask around for more details.

Saturday

Two groups play on Saturday. One starting at 9am the other at 1pm or 12noon in winter, again partners are drawn so it is a good way to meet and play with new people.  The 9am roll-up is often popular with the lower-handicappers and the 1pm roll-up is well attended.

Sunday

There are two roll-ups, 7.45am and 8.30am.  There’s often a ‘Captains challenge’ where the Captain and Vice Captain throw down a challenge to another pair but they still compete in the roll-up.

Competitions

There are regular medals and boarded competitions running throughout the year.  Men’s weekend competitions usually run over both Saturday and Sunday, while mid-week competitions are played on Wednesday and Thursday.
